Zoo recount
Yes! I couldn't wait to go to the zoo. We went to the zoo because the Warehouse sponsored us and Richie's buses paid for us to go on the bus for free. Even though we are learning about space we decided to go to the zoo. I couldn’t wait to see all the animals.

When we got there we met these two men there names were Hohepa and Patrick. They were the people to show us around Africa. When they said that we could go explore the zoo we all quickly went to our groups. I was in Miss Charlon’s group. It was so fun because we looked like we were exploring the jungle with a map. First we saw the spider monkeys. The baby spider monkeys were so cute! That's what all my group said. We had a little snack while we were watching the spider monkeys. Then we just went to go see the other animals. The next thing we saw was the red pandas. We met up with Ms Kiripatrick’s group. We didn’t see the red pandas we were thinking that they were sleeping. So we waited for them to come out. After waiting for the red pandas to come out. We finally saw the red pandas they were so interesting. After meeting up with Ms Kiripatrick we went to see some more animals. Then we went to go see the lizards they were also very interesting and amazing. There was some camouflage lizards too. Then we saw the tiger. The tiger was not there when we went the first time it was not there. When we went the second time but we saw it. While we were passing by so all of us ran quickly to see it before it went into the big long grass. We were not there for a long time.

After we all explored the zoo in our groups we met up with Hohepa and Patrick. Hohepa was with us and Patrick was with Room 4. The first thing Hohepa showed us was the baboon. We couldn’t really see it so we waited until it came out. Finally we saw it and we saw its pink bum. We learnt that baboons bum feels like a rock. Hohepa said that it's like a pillow so when they sit down it feels comfortable. That's why we went to go see the cheetahs we all had to sit down by the glass wall and face Hohepa he told us all about cheetahs he said that cheetahs are not just fast by themselves things part of their body helps their claws to grab onto the grass. They grab onto the grass so they can jump long distances away. That is why it can be easier for them to run. After that we went and saw the elephants their names were Burma and Anjalee. We learnt that when elephants put dirt or hay on them it’s like sun block. We also learnt that when elephants poop makes it into paper. Then we had a lunch break and watch Anjalee and Burma. Then we the last animal we saw was the flamingos we didn’t really learn that much about them. We ask some questions and one of them was standing on one leg. We learnt that when flamingos stand on one leg.

Then we went to go and see all the other animals. The first animal we saw in Africa was the  meerkats they had really small ears and there was a little tunnel to crawl in. When we went there we saw Miss Charon and her group. We all went into the tunnel and there was a little bit where you can stand up. There was to tunnels and there was also a little bit where you can stand up. That little bit where you can stand up it’s clear and when people look at the meerkats it looks like were in where the meerkats were. After we watched the meerkats. We went to see the zebras and giraffes we all marched in a line and followed Miss Charon. Then we went to go see the zebras and giraffes. We all made room so that the short people can see the animals. Finally we went back to where we started and had some lunch were drinking  our water.

I loved seeing the other animals. I can’t wait to go back to school because my legs were so sore, even though we are learning about space we decided to go to the zoo anyway. I couldn’t wait to see all the animals.

Space Art

We made space art by using coffee filters and white paint on black paper. We used dye to colour the coffee filters. I used the colours purple, blue, red, and yellow. I think it looks fantastic.

Rhythm Interactive

Rhythm Interactive

Today the whole school went to the hall and there was this
man named Johnny. He was our drum teacher to teach us how
to drum with Djembes. We had to listen to the rhythm.
Johnny told us that if you can say it you can play it so we all had
to listen so we knew what the rhythm was. We all were focused
and enjoyed the drumming lesson. We got to have some drums
